Over 300 students aged two to sixty took part in the annual musical and dance extravaganza, Before They Were Famous.

The event was the culmination of six months’ practice by SB Entertainments’ budding Broadway showstoppers who attend its community dance classes and special school-based workshops.

The performance attracted an audience of over 900, who enjoyed a colourful presentation of modern dance and singing acts including a tribute to the late Michal Jackson.

Principal Sarah Baldock was delighted for the pupils, some of whom have learning disabilities and health issues: “It was a massive achievement, getting up on stage in front of so many people. Not only do they have something to focus on, but it also helps to keep them fit and energised.

“We had a great turnout of family members, friends and members of the general public.”

SB Entertainments, staffed by qualified teachers with industry experience, runs classes and teaches in state and private schools across North Wales and The North West.

With an extensive talent pool, SB Entertainments offers tuition in a broad-cross section of disciplines, from choreography to singing. It also runs special school holiday clubs in which pupils go on day trips to local attractions and prepare – and perform – their own show for friends and family.

Party 1

 The children will have obstacle races, party games (indoor & outdoor), learn how to sing and dance like Pop Stars with microphones and backing tracks, have karaoke competitions and pass the parcel.

Party 2

 This is much more of a girly party! Again the children will do obstacle races, party games and have their nails painted with polish and gems by a fully qualified Nail Technician. All Party Organisers are Police Checked – please call NOW to book the party of your choice.

We warm the students up. Sing all the latest Pop songs. Learn funky street dance and Hip Hop moves. Cover confidence building exercises, so the students get more confident each week.

You can choose from Street Dancing, Popstar Academies or Musical Theatre Workshops for your after school club.

Students will work towards an in house end of term presentation or are welcome to take part in The SB Entertainments annual variety show called ‘Before They Were Famous’at Venue Cymru in Llandudno.

SB Entertainments can also work alongside your school production team on Christmas and Eisteddfod presentations.

Students work together within a team to build their self esteem and life skills.  Gaining confidence for all walks of life.

Weekly Popstar Academy held at Marine Holiday Park, Rhyl

The sessions cover vocal skills especially from the musicals to prepare the students for auditions and performing arts collages or you can join in these classes if you enjoy acting out scenes and singing songs from your favorite musicals or movies.  These course are great for confidence building and as a preparation for working within the industry.

Courses in schools are for ten weeks only.

Vocal Coaching by Professional vocal coaches and Professional Singers is incorporated into classes every week. Students will learn how to breathe correctly while singing, project their voices and learn scales.
Microphone technique is also included into courses. The students really enjoy this and it helps them to use a microphone properly. Microphones are of the highest quality and are both lapel and hand held microphones. The technicians rig the microphones up to the P.A. and speaker system and the students sing like Professional Pop Stars.

Courses in various centres outside school hours run for 12 week terms.

On the final session during the Christmas term only, the parents are invited along to watch a presentation – full of all the songs and dances the students have learned over the ten-week course. So parents can see for themselves how much their children have improved.

Every year S.B. Entertainments hire the Venue Cymru in Llandudno, where all the students of S.B. Entertainments come together to perform in a “Before They Were Famous” Variety Show.

Make-up artists are present to guide the students with their hair and make up for the Presentations and Shows, so the students feel as though they are being looked after like Famous Pop Stars.

Camera men will also be present to film – for which I use P4 TV, based in Penrhyn Bay. It is then optional for Parents to purchase a fully professional DVD of the presentation or show.

P4 TV are also available to book along with S.B. Entertainments for Camera Workshops. This is where the students film alongside the Camera Men and learn how to Produce their very own Pop Video. S.B. Entertainments can provide the costumes and make up for this if required.

Students gain confidence for all walks of life by taking part in Pop Star Academies and Camera Workshops.

The courses are made fun and exciting. The students will gain condifence and meet new friends. Helping them to learn how to work well within a group.
